If you like the following, you will like this shoe:
** A toe box that is on the narrow side of normal.
** A shoe that breaks in pretty fast.
** A shoe that is somewhere between a hiker and an approach shoe.
** A shoe with sticky Vibrum soles.
** A shoe with a light ammount of padding, but structured.
Cons so far:
** On clean, polished flooring, they are not very grippy.
** Pretty basic, if you need true foot support, get a boot.
** Shoe laces don't hold a knot.
** they don't breathe.
I think they excel in the outdoor environment where you don't need a huge amount of foot / ankle support. If you are looking for a fashion shoe, I'd try something else.

These are extremely comfortable right away.
8 eyelets, construction,unique looks,toe protection all strong.
On my feet a lot at work and these saw me through.
Got 3 compliments wearing them first day out.
I'm not climbing Mt. Fuji or trekking at the mouth of a volcano, (wish I were). Whatever you do these are a big thumbs up.

I bought these as a summer walker / work shoe-boot. They are not as sturdy as I thought they would be. I'm used to wearing shoes and boots with ankles so maybe it's just me.
If you are doing heavy hiking or working I'd suggest something thicker but then they will be hotter.
