By D. Cooley
First, this shoe is awesome. My toddler and preschooler were wearing through one pair of shoes EVERY MONTH when I finally decided to go with Keen & its rugged sole & toe cap. It's been wonderful! They look fabulous. And the lacing is perfect for littles, with nothing to tie.
I was really surprised to have to buy a size 10 for my younger son, as my older son is currently in a size 10 Keen Skyline. Then I put the two shoes sole-to-sole, and this one is easily an inch shorter than the Skyline. It doesn't make the shoe any less awesome, but know that you may need to buy a size up.

By Meg
This is the absolute best shoe I have ever purchased, hands-down. My son is almost 8 and walks in the inside of his feet, as a result he needs to wear orthodics and the inside sole and heel of his shoes wear out quickly. For years we went through the process of buying him a new pair of shoes every 4-6 weeks, and we tried everything! We tried $40 Sketchers, $30 KSwiss, $60 StrideRites, $12 cheapies. None of his shoes lasted longer than 6 weeks, and then a friend suggested we try Keens.
I balked at first, Keens are not inexpensive shoes, but I figured that spending $60 would be worth it if the shoes lasted longer than a few weeks. We first bought him the Keen Alamosa shoes. I was very impressed that after 6 weeks the soles of the shoes looked almost unworn, but unfortunately the toe had separated from the sole and the lace was almost worn through. I went to the Keen website and learned that they offer a 30 day warranty. Knowing the shoes were out-of-warranty I contacted them anyhow and explained the situation. Within 24 hours Keen sent me a gift code worth the value of the shoes (about $50) so I could replace them. I decided to upgrade to the Gypsum Hiking Shoe as it has more toe protection, and even though the total came to around $60 with shipping, Keen covered the extra cost! And they sent me a second pair of shoe laces to boot (Keen offers free lifetime shoe lace replacement!)
My son has been wearing the Gypsums for about 6 months now, he's to the point where he is outgrowing them and is ready to move on to another pair. My son has not outgrown a pair of shoes since he was an infant, I am amazed. I bought my daughter a pair of Keens after seeing how well they held up with my son, and I plan on replacing all of my children's shoes with Keens for as long as I can.

I purchased these for my 5 year old twins they were true to size. They can be a little stiff for a young developing foot, but offer great protection from the elements. Best used for fall, winter and early spring. Performed well in rain and puddles just don't let it go over the sides. Best used for lite hiking, trailing or for kids that are accident prone (bumping and breaking toes) my kids school likes them especially in gym for their ruggedness and tough rubber bottom is easy on the gym floor. It was delivered by Amazon in two days in new condition no issues. Hope this review helps
