You'd think a shoe with the name "GoLite" would be super lightweight. Actually they're pretty heavy, not quite as much as a full hiking boot but nowhere near as light as a typical sneaker.
The replaceable toe portion is a bit gimmicky and mine keeps coming loose, but otherwise this is a great shoe. It's perfect for casual hikes or walking where the terrain is questionable. Very comfortable, squeaked a bit when I first got them, but have thankfully stopped that now.
But, yeah, not light... or lite for that matter.

I love these shoes. They are comfortable and the fit is spot on. I had one complaint. The sole came loose, I repaired myself with some gorilla glue but I should have sent them back, it really was a bad error in manufacturing.
I assume it was a one time problem from the factory so would still recommend, however, the company should be aware that this type of problem is slipping past quality control.

I have been wanting a pair of Golites for awhile but I can not find them locally. I saw them at a discount store once, tried them on and loved them. Ordered my usual 11.5 as reviews said "true to size". They came in too small. I tried to talk myself into them fitting but nope. Sent them back and ordered size 12.0. Good Lord! They were too freakin' big! Must be a real inconsistent sizing problem since within a half size they were too small or too large! Never had that happen before! Well I am over the Golites and will not bother trying them again. The only saving grace is that Amazon is excellent and returning both pairs was no issue at all. I am a dedicated Amazon buyer and will remain as such. My advice with the Golites is to Gowithadifferentshoe or gowithabrandyouknow because these just may let you down! The quality seemed okay but nothing special. They could be an extremely comfortable shoe for the short-term if you are lucky enough to get in the right size. Amazon made this a smooth return transaction, both times!
