By Mark Spencer
I purchased this shoe at REI and used it for about 6 weeks before the leather split between the sole and the last. There's another reviewer at REI that had the same issue. It ripped in the same location after about the same duration. Be aware that there may be material quality defects with this shoe.
UPDATE: In addition to returning the shoes to REI, which they have a great return policy, I e-mailed Merrell. It's been over 6 months and I didn't even get a reply. This is the last Merrell item I will buy.

Great shoe. It fits just a tad snug. However, not eneough really to jump up a half size. It is really comfortable and I love the great traction from the amazing tread on bottom. The only complaint if it is one is the shoes seem overly stiff, more so than other new pairs of Merrells I have purchased. Maybe that will work out over time and a few long hikes.

By Kevin
I used this shoe hiking around and playing disc golf. Less than two weeks and about 10 miles into using the shoe, it developed around a 3 inch rip on the outside of the shoe along the suede just above the sole when I slipped while playing disc golf. I promptly set them back for a refund. They were very comfortable, but obviously I had concerns with the durability.
